Every now and then I come across a quote that I’ve just got to use in my media training work (well, we can’t all be Pulitzer Prize winning novelists, like Richard Powers.)
A character in his novel, The Overstory says: “The best arguments in the world won’t change a person’s mind. The only thing that can do that is a good story.”
Having a good story as part of your narrative is spot on, whether you’re promoting a product or service or in the middle of a comms crisis.
It’s also worth thinking about if you’re doing your prep for a media interview or writing a press release in the hope that it gets picked up by journalists.
If you’d like any advice or support with media training, crisis communications or writing a press release get in touch with me.
And if you don’t, take my advice and beg, borrow, steal or maybe even buy The Overstory, which is wonderful.
