On tv, radio and online we often see spokespeople (including experienced politicians) struggle to handle the media but I always advise my clients never to copy politicians – they work to a completely different agenda.
My experience as a BBC journalist has taught me that burying your head in the sand when there’s a media storm achieves nothing and often makes matters much worse.
Yet with expert training there is no reason why your spokesperson/people shouldn’t come across as first-class communicators and representatives of your brand regardless of the context.
